THE PROCESS
BEFORE YOUR TATTOO
It’s important to be prepared for your tattoo experience physically and mentally. So here are a few tips to get you ready for the day of your tattoo session.
-
Get a full night's sleep the evening before your appointment.
-
Plan your day around your tattoo; not vice-versa.
-
Eat a moderate meal a few hours beforehand.
-
Abstain from too much caffeine or other stimulants.
-
Avoid strenuous exercise and mentally stressful situations.
-
Enter into your session feeling positive and relaxed.
-
Give yourself plenty of free time before and after your session.
The healthier you are, the better your body will be able to heal your tattoo. Since healing a tattoo requires extra effort from your body's immune system, it's a good idea to avoid excessive alcohol consumption for few days before your session. (Drinking the day before can also add to increased bleeding during your session). Do what you can to make your immune system as strong as possible in preparation for your appointment. If you feel like you're getting sick or encounter any health issues before your appointment, please contact your artist to see if rescheduling is recommended.
